All you need is some colored paper (Amazon link), some superglue (Amazon Link), and scissors.
How to Make a Paper Rose
This project will take around 20 minutes and is very easy to do.
Step 1: Cut the Paper
First, we have to cut the paper.
Fold the whole paper in the middle along the longer side.
Then fold it once more and unfold the paper again.
Finally, cut along the folded lines. You will end up with four equal rectangular pieces.
Step 2: Cut the Rose Petals
Take one of the rectangles and fold it in half along the longer side.
Then fold it twice more until you end up with a folded rectangle like this.
Finally, cut the shape of the petals. Be careful to leave a small area on both sides on the bottom that are connected to the edges. This will ensure that all of the pieces stay connected.
Unfold the whole thing and repeat this step for the other three paper strips.
Step 3: Make the Rose
Take the paper strips that you just cut and roll one of them up very tightly. This will be the center of the rose.
Apply some glue on the bottom of the last two petals before you roll them up.
Then, take the next paper strip and roll it around the center that you just created. But this time don´t wrap it too tightly. Use some glue to attach it to the core while you wrap the paper strip around the center.
Repeat this process for the last two strips and fold the petals outwards.
And with that, the rose is done.
How to Make a Paper Flower With Stem
This project takes around 30 minutes and is relatively easy. It requires a little more patience than the previous one.
Step 1: Cut the Paper
Just like in the first guide, we first have to cut the paper.
Fold one corner of the paper over and align it with the edge of the paper.
Cut along the line to make the paper a square.
Then fold the paper in the middle twice and unfold it again.
Cut along the fold lines to create four equal squares.
Step 2: Make the Petals
This is where it gets fun.
Take one of the squares and fold one corner over to the other. You will end up with a triangle.
Fold it again in the middle and then unfold it.
Now, take the left corner of the triangle and fold it upwards like this:
And then fold the other side over like this:
Don´t worry, it doesn´t have to be accurate.
Finally, cut the shape of the petal. Make sure to leave the bottom corner as it is.
Unfold the petals.
You should end up with a round shape like this:
Repeat this step for the rest of the squares.
Step 3: Make the Flower
Finally, we will make the flower.
Start by cutting from one of the corners inwards towards the middle. Don´t cut the petals in half!
Now, roll the petals up and glue them in place with some super glue at the last petal.
Repeat this process with the other petals but roll them up looser as you go. This way, you will end up with bigger flower parts like this.
Cut the bottom of the inner flower part and glue it inside the bigger part.
Bend the petals outwards slightly and you will end up with a convincing middle section of a flower.
Step 4: Make the Flower Stem
All that´s left to do is to make the stem of the flower.
Start by rolling some paper into a thin roll.
Glue the paper roll at the end.
Cut off one side of the paper roll.
And cut into the paper roll on the other side.
This is the side that we will glue to the flower, like this:
Finally, cut some leave shapes from paper and glue them to the stem.
Fold the leaf down to make it look more organic.
And done! You made a paper flower with a green stem.
How to Make a Paper Summer Flower
This final paper flower is a variation of the second flower. So I will skip over some of the same steps and you can refer to the previous flower guide if you need to.
Step 1: Cut the Paper and the Petals
Just like in the previous guide, simply fold the paper into squares and cut them out. You will end up with four identical squares.
Fold one of the squares into a triangle.
And then fold it in half again.
Cut the top part round like this:
Then cut the shapes of the petals along the rounded side. Make sure to cut towards the bottom corner of the shape.
Unfold the petals and you should end up with a shape like this:
Step 2: Make the Flower
Now, you only need to make a cut from the edge to the center of the petal shape.
And roll it up just like before.
Glue it all together and fold some of the petals out to make the flower look organic.
You can have fun with this by changing the shape and color of the petals to create unique flowers out of colored paper.
